Privacy Policy

About this policy

dotstudio provides UP. This policy explains the information used to deliver alarms, focus sessions, movement tracking, Circles, rewards, and advertising, and the choices available to you.

Account and profile information

UP uses an account identifier, including a guest identifier when a guest connection is established, to keep accounts separate and protect access. If you sign in with Google, or Apple when available, the provider may supply your account identifier, email address, name, and other profile information you authorize. Google and Apple handle their sign-in credentials. If you use an existing email account, the password is sent directly to the authentication provider and is not saved in UP’s app records. Your chosen UP display name and avatar are visible to members of Circles you join.

Information on your device

Personal alarms, challenge reminders, imported alarm sounds, wake history, active focus and break sessions, and app preferences are stored on your device. Optional age, height, and weight help suggest an adjustable movement goal. Step counts and walking sessions support your progress. These body details and movement records are not uploaded to your Circle or included in your progress backup. UP is a wellbeing tool, not a medical service.

Sleep journal and sound playback

The optional sleep journal stores the bedtimes, wake times, estimated awake minutes, rest ratings, and evening factors you enter. An open bedtime session records its start time, not measured sleep. Duration estimates and trends are calculated from your entries; The journal does not infer sleep stages or diagnose sleep conditions. Optional Android overnight monitoring processes microphone sound in memory using a bundled classifier to estimate possible snoring and quiet, low-phone-movement periods. No audio recordings, speech transcripts, or playable clips are saved or uploaded. Encrypted summaries include session times, captured coverage, sound-event estimates, and phone-motion counts, and are kept on this device for up to 30 nights. These estimates can be affected by other people, pets, room sounds, and microphone placement; they are not measured sleep stages or a diagnosis. Monitoring begins only after your explicit choice and permission, continues with a visible stop notification, and ends when you stop it, UP’s alarm rings, or your chosen limit is reached. Account switching clears these local reports. You can delete individual reports in Sleep. These entries remain encrypted on this phone, are excluded from account backup and Circles, and are not sent to advertisers. You can edit or delete each entry inside Sleep. Up to 180 nights are retained. Local sleep sounds stop when you leave Sleep or background UP. Optional bedtime reminders use your phone notifications for the next selected time.

Camera, movement, and location

Camera access is used for the photo, QR, and body-movement missions you choose. Mission photos are checked on your device and temporary photo files are deleted after checking; UP does not upload them. QR setup stores a fingerprint of your chosen code rather than its readable contents. Motion access counts steps during sessions and missions. Precise location is used only when you turn on route recording in Move. Routes stay on your device, are not sent to Circles or advertisers, and route recording pauses when UP goes into the background. You may decline these permissions and choose another task.

Focus and connected watches

On supported Android devices, optional Focus Shield checks which app is in front so it can block apps you select during a focus session. UP does not use it to read screen text, passwords, or messages. If you connect a supported watch, UP sends a minimal next-wake summary to the paired device. Watch step sessions stay on that watch in the current companion experience. UP does not request access to your contacts. Microphone access is optional and used only for overnight monitoring you explicitly start.

Optional online features and backups

Turning on Connect my UP world enables Circles, account progress backup, and verification of consistency rewards. Your encrypted progress backup can include your UP profile, XP, coins, goals, preferences, daily completion history, program and challenge progress, mood check-ins, and reflections. It excludes active focus sessions, body measurements, movement routes, and mission photos. Restoring an encrypted backup on a new phone requires your recovery key. Keep that key private: dotstudio cannot reconstruct a lost key. Older backups created before encryption was introduced may remain readable to the service until replaced by a new encrypted backup.

Circles and information you share

Circle members can see the display name, avatar, shared plans, messages, wake consent, and challenge activity you choose to share with the group. Invite codes allow others to join; share them only with people you trust. UP supports text messages, selected emoji reactions, and text-only milestones. Voice messages, image attachments, and photo proof sharing are not supported. Milestones are shared only after you choose the Circle and confirm the text; they can show a challenge title or focus duration and count in a friendly weekly league. League wins are self-reported, not verified fitness results. Circle messages and shared plans use protected connections and access controls, but are not end-to-end encrypted and can be processed by our service providers. Other members may keep their own copies of information you share. You can report a message or block its sender from Circle chat. Blocking hides their messages and milestones on your account. Reports include the message reference, reason, reporter and reported account identifiers, and time. Authorized moderators can review reported content, remove messages and restrict online access.

Advertising and service providers

Google provides account, hosting, security, and advertising services for UP. Apple processes sign-in information when that sign-in option is available. Advertising services may collect and share IP addresses, approximate location derived from an IP address, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, and performance diagnostics to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. UP requests non-personalized ads; that does not mean no advertising data is processed. Precise walking routes, body measurements, private reflections, and mission photos are not supplied by UP to advertisers. Optional rewarded ads unlock the item shown in the offer. Review available advertising choices in Privacy Settings. Provider privacy information is available at policies.google.com/privacy and apple.com/legal/privacy.

Why information is used

We use information to provide the features you choose, restore progress, verify daily rewards, protect accounts, prevent abuse, operate advertising, and troubleshoot reliability. Account and advertising providers may also process connection records and service diagnostics. UP does not include a separate product analytics or crash-reporting feature in this version. We may disclose information if required by law or necessary to protect people and the service.

Your choices and retention

Privacy Settings lets you turn the online connection on or off and review advertising choices. App Permissions lets you review camera, motion, location, and notification access; your phone controls the final permission decision. You can edit optional body details in Move. Device records remain until cleared, removed by your device, or uninstalled. Account backups, consent records, and shared content can remain online after you disconnect, sign out, or uninstall; those actions do not delete the account or previous messages. We retain online information while needed for the service, security, and applicable obligations. To delete your account, open Account or Privacy Settings and choose Delete account. After confirmation and, for linked accounts, a fresh sign-in, a trusted background process closes online access and removes your sign-in account, profile, backup, Circle messages, reactions, milestones, memberships and related reports. Shared Circle ownership transfers to a remaining member; empty Circles and their invitations are deleted. This phone’s alarms, imported sounds, history and private progress are cleared. A minimal blocked-account identifier is retained to prevent stale sessions restoring erased data. Device permissions, advertising-provider records and copies independently kept by others are managed separately. Email Havychevy@gmail.com for deletion without the app, partial data requests, access, correction or export; ownership verification and applicable retention requirements may apply.

Security, international processing, and contact

UP protects sensitive local records and new private backups with encryption and limits account access. No service can promise complete protection. Keep your device and recovery key secure. Google and Apple may process information outside your country under their applicable safeguards. Contact dotstudio at Havychevy@gmail.com for privacy questions or requests. This policy will be updated when material practices change; the effective date appears above. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to contact a privacy regulator.
